One of my fav restaurants! Haven't had a meal I didn't like. But their prime rib, stewed tomatoes, seared ahi tuna, and steak n cheese are the best!!
This local restaurant has been a favorite for over 30 years it’s had its ups and downs but in the past few years it’s going way up. This hole in the wall restaurant is taken a turn for the good driving by it you would never think this place was good and then when you walk in some would just think there’s no way this place has good food. If they would just spruce up the outside a little and do a little makeover inside. The cocktails are good they have many specials to choose from, the food is very good and fresh made. The fried shrimp dinner is excellent fresh shrimp hand breaded (don’t get the shrimp basket they are frozen shrimp) the sides omg very tasty I like the Mac and cheese, coleslaw, scalloped potatoes they are all homemade. The side salads are good fresh made and most of the time a very generous portion occasionally you will get a skimpy one. The chicken and rice special is very large and good enough to share with someone else and get an extra side. The prime rib is also very good only can get this in the evenings when they have the prime rib shaved sub get it another great sandwich. Everything thing is good and the servers are very friendly the girls that clean up the tables are also friendly and are willing to help with what you need. So when you drive up and walk in just remember the food is GOOD dont mind the decor.
Great local spot not far from home. Food is always excellent. Kind of a restaurant then bar atmosphere as the dinner service is always really busy on the weekends but the bar stays busy too. Cocktails are strong, beer is cold, and they even have a couple of TVs.
Being out of town, I was a bit skeptical pulling in. However, the service was the best I've had in a long time. Friendly, quick and attentive. The food was very good. If you are in the area check this place out!
Comfortable, local hidden gem. It’s where the locals eat and it it some of the best seafood, & prime rib around not too mention their homemade Mac& cheese. The atmosphere is screams local dive but that is partners of the appeal. Sometimes you just want to go back in time.
Great food! Parking for trailers too where you can pull around and through!
Visited for the first time on a friday for lunch with friends. I have lived in Calvert for 15 years and never knew it was there. Its truly a local gem. Please remember this is a small bar restaurant. Its not fancy and is dated. However, thats what I loved about it. Its cozy. The staff were friendly and working very hard. To drink I had a Woo Woo which is now my favorite. For lunch I had the clubsandwich(combo meat) with french fries and slaw. The sandwich was huge. Tasted delish. The fries were also good. Perfect combo of crispy and soft. The slaw, which by the way I'm picky about was very good too. Not too sweet but not too vinegary. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for my daughter to go. The tenders were also good. Only recommendation I can think of is a little more fries with the sandwiches. The menu has a good variety of options. Lots of appetizers, sandwiches and from what I gather prime rib for dinners sometimes. I highly recommend popping in and giving them a try. I will for sure be back.
